Dr. Hertha joined the team at Apollo Pet Hospital & Resort in 2021. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, a Master of Science degree in Public Health, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hertha has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Huntsville area since 1983. He enjoys the vastness and variety that veterinary medicine bestows. He also feels that Apollo Pet Hospital & Resort has a great team to work with.

Dr. Hertha and his wife, Donna, have enjoyed dogs and cats as their pets for more than 35 years. In his spare time, he enjoys working on his farm and property. A fun fact about Dr. Hertha is that as a native Huntsvillian, he attended Blossomwood Elementary School, Huntsville Junior High, and Huntsville High School.
